Applications for ABC Council resident sponsored bursary awards are now open.
Deadline Friday 16 June at 4pm.
These bursary awards allow Council residents to attend all the JHISS events, workshops and activities between Monday 24 July and Friday 28 July 2023, 9.45am – 10.30pm daily.
If your postcode is within the ABC Council area and you are interested in attending,
please apply online as soon as possible.
The John Hewitt Society is grateful to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for its continuing support, and, as a special local initiative, the organisers continue to offer these attractive daily bursaries as opportunities to residents throughout the entire Council area to take partake fully in the prestigious John Hewitt International Summer School and attend all the various talks, readings, workshops and panel discussions, as well as the attractive evening shows in The Market Place Theatre in Armagh during the annual festival of culture and creativity.
Tony Kennedy, Board Chairman of The John Hewitt Society said last week: “These bursaries have become increasingly popular but the John Hewitt Society is anxious to point out that, while first-time applicants are most welcome, having received one of the ABC Council area bursaries should not prevent people from applying again. What we ask of those who receive bursaries is that they attend a significant percentage of the Summer School activities on offer and submit a brief report after the Summer School.”
