John Hewitt, Poets and Songs of the Glens of Antrim.

In this talk, Dr Frank Ferguson will explore some of the poetry and songs that form the rich literary, linguistic and musical culture of the Glens of Antrim. Hewitt found great inspiration here and this in turn shaped his own poetry and outlook on life. We will take a tour of this writing, discovering along the way some of the works that Hewitt loved and some that proved challenging to him. Dr Ferguson of Ulster University, is the new Chair of the John Hewitt Society.
